The Journey to Wellbeing: A Personal Stock-Take and Visioning Exercise

In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to lose track of how we're really feeling. We get caught up in the daily grind, forgetting to check in with ourselves and assess our overall wellbeing. As a coach, I've come to realize the importance of periodically taking stock of where we stand on the Wellbeing Continuum. It's about recognizing what's working for us and what's holding us back, so we can pave the way for a journey towards greater fulfilment and happiness.

For me, this journey began with a simple yet powerful exercise: The Wellbeing Stock-Take.

It starts with taking a moment to pause, close our eyes, and take a few deep breaths to centre ourselves. By quieting the mind and tuning into our inner wisdom, we can gain valuable insights into our current state of wellbeing.

The Wellbeing Stock-Take involves examining various life areas, which each play a crucial role in shaping our overall sense of fulfilment. These areas include:

  1. Health
  2. Relationships
  3. Finances
  4. Spirituality
  5. Career
  6. Contribution
  7. Personal Growth

Without judgment or blame, we assess how we're faring in each of these areas. Are they contributing positively to our wellbeing, or are they acting as barriers to our happiness? This exercise serves as a foundation for change, empowering us to identify areas for improvement and take proactive steps towards a brighter future.

We can then start to create a new way of being.  By envisioning our ideal future and truly feeling into that vision, we tap into the limitless potential of the quantum field. Through thoughts and feelings, we can manifest the life we desire.

There are countless ways to engage in visioning, from creating vision boards to practicing guided meditations. Personally, I love to create vision statements and repeat them over and over during my outdoor runs. The key is finding a technique that resonates with you and committing to it consistently.

By regularly revisiting our vision and aligning our thoughts and actions with it, we not only reaffirm our desires but also program our minds for success. It's a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, where we take responsibility for our own wellbeing and actively work towards creating a life that brings us joy and fulfilment.

So, I invite you to embark on this journey with me. Take a moment to reflect on where you stand on the Wellbeing Continuum and envision the life you truly desire. Through self-awareness, intention, and action, we can unlock the door to a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling existence.
